The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of North, Central and South Trinidad, who have been affected by the planned shutdown at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, that the necessary works have been completed and the facility was restarted at about 9:00 p.m. on Thursday November 5, 2020. The associated transmission and distribution systems are being gradually re-pressurized in keeping normal operating procedures following a shutdown of this nature.

Customers are reminded that it may take up to 48 hours for the pipe borne water supply to normalize to some areas in keeping with established water supply schedules. The Authority is also engaged in system flushing exercises in various areas in order to minimize any discoloured supply. However customers who may experience discolouration in their supply should allow same to flow until it clears.
