SERVICE DISRUPTION

TO CUSTOMERS SERVED BY THE
POINT FORTIN DESALINATION PLANT

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Point Fortin and La Brea supplied by the Point Fortin Desalination Plant that, there will be an interruption in their normal pipe borne water supply from 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday 26th January, 2021 to 4:00 p.m. on Thursday 28th January, 2021.

This is due to planned electrical maintenance at the facility that will result in the plant being out of operation from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on 26th January, 2021 and thereafter operating at 50% capacity through to 4:00 p.m. on 28th January, 2021.

The Seven Seas Water Unlimited owned and operated Point Fortin Desalination Plant, normally delivers 5.6 million gallons per day (mgd) to the Authority, which is used to supply Point Fortin and parts of La Brea.

  • Reservoir Hill
  • Point Fortin (Proper)
  • Mahaica
  • Fanny Village
  • Egypt Village
  • Salazar Trace
  • Gonzales
  • Lot 10
  • New Village
  • Clifton Hill
  • Techier
  • Vance River
  • Vessigny

Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas.

For further information or assistance, customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426. A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, health care and government institutions.
