SERVICE DISRUPTION

TO CUSTOMERS IN PARTS OF
FREEPORT/COUVA & MORUGA

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in Freeport and Gran Couva served by the Freeport Water Treatment Plant who are presently experiencing a disruption in their normal pipe borne water supply that, this is due to electrical problems affecting Operations in the well field supplying the facility. Emergency repair works currently underway are expected to be completed by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday 17th February, 2021.

Areas affected include:

  • Preysal
  • Chickland
  • Mayo
  • Lower Couva
  • San Francisco
  • Tortuga
  • Sapathay
  • San Pedro
  • Cedar Hill Road

The Authority also advises customers in the Moruga area that there will be a disruption in their water supply on Wednesday 17th February, 2021 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This has become necessary in order to conduct pipeline diversion works along Moruga Road, Indian Walk, which is associated with ongoing road stabilization works by the Ministry of Works and Transport.

Areas to be affected include:

  • Moruga Road including Lower Indian Walk from Ramdhanie Trace to Fort George Road.

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some areas following the completion of the respective repair works.
