TO CUSTOMERS IN PARTS OF
SOUTH WEST TRINIDAD

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of South West Trinidad who experienced a disruption in their pipe borne water supply on Saturday 27th March, 2021 that, this was due to damage to the Authority's 24 inch diameter transmission pipeline along the Solomon Hochoy Highway Extension, South Oropouche. The damage was caused by Jusamco while carrying out excavation work associated with the ongoing highway extension project.

Emergency repair works were completed at approximately8:00 p.m. on Saturday 27th March, 2021. These works were completed with co-operation of the said contractor who provided equipment for excavation which was required to conduct the repair.

Areas affected include:

  • Bassa Hill
  • Chin Fong Alley
  • Three Hands
  • La Brea Industrial Estate
  • Belle View
  • Square Deal
  • Union Industrial Estate

Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the scheduled pipe borne water supply to normalize to some affected areas.
