UPDATE 2 SERVICE DISRUPTION TO CUSTOMERS SERVED BY THE NORTH OROPOUCHE WATER TREATMENT PLANT | |
Repair works are underway to the ruptured 42” main in the vicinity of the Santa Rosa Racetrack, west bound lane, off the Churchill Roosevelt Highway, near the bridge crossing. Intermittent rainfall during the day, Friday 20th January, has increased the complexity of the job at hand. However, WASA Team members working overnight, are committed to restoring service in the shortest possible time. The Authority is managing demand with a valve protocol which allowed customers east of the breach, in the Town of Sangre Grande, to receive an overnight supply. Customers in other areas are experiencing low pressures and, in some cases, no water. Mitigation measures are in place with a limited truck borne service. This is available upon request by contacting WASA’s Customer Call Centre, toll free, at 800-4420/4426. Works will progress well into today, Saturday 21st January 2023 and further updates will be provided accordingly. The Authority thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
