FINAL UPDATE:

CARONI WATER TREATMENT PLANT RETURNED TO SERVICE

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority), advises customers served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant that planned maintenance works by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC), as well as critical plant maintenance works were completed and the facility returned to service at approximately 12:00 a.m. today – Thursday 9,th February, 2023.

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 48 hours for service to normalize to some areas in accordance with established water supply schedules.

Customers in some areas who may experience discoloration in their supply, are advised that this is not unusual after an extended disruption and water is restored to the transmission pipeline system. Should this occur, customers are advised to keep their taps open and allow the water to run until clear.

A limited truck-borne service will be available upon request which can be made through the following self-service options:

  • WASA Services App available via the Play Store or Apple store; or
  • Customer Portal available on the Authority’s website: www.wasa.gov.tt.

Alternatively, customers requiring direct assistance or further information can contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.

The Authority thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
