MEDICAL CARE FOR WORKERS

Employees are subjected to regular medical checkups depending on the particular hazards to which one might be exposed. Those who work on water and wastewater treatment plants staff are examined annually and vaccinated regularly. This ensures that they do not acquire any occupational illnesses as a result of the peculiar chemical or bacterial environment in which they work. It also ensures that they do not transmit any communicable disease to their families, each other or the public through the water supply. In order to prevent the introduction of communicable diseases, employees are required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination. This ensures that they are not placed in positions where any pre-existing medical condition for example asthma, can be made worse.
