PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE)

A wide range of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used at WASA and each is specially selected and uniquely designed to protect workers against specific hazards. They can be placed in categories according to the body part or system they are designed to protect. These are as follows:

Head Protection
Hard hats (class E, specially designed to protect from electrical shock.)

Face Protection
Face visors and welding shields.

Eye Protection
Safety glasses, safety goggles and welding glasses.

Ear Protection
Earmuffs and earplugs.

Respiratory System Protection
Full-face respirators, half face respirators with variable filters, dust masks, self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and five-minute respirators.

Hand Protection
Gloves specially designed to protect against cuts, heat and abrasions including standard rubber and disposable latex.

Foot Protection
Steel tipped boots, welding shoes, rubber boots and hip-high boots.

Whole Body Protection
Fabric and plastic coveralls, Hazmat suits, welding aprons, reflective vests and body harnesses.
