PROCEDURES FOR VISITS TO RESERVOIRS/TREATMENT PLANTS

  • Address your request in writing to the Assistant Manager, Corporate Communications, Public Education Unit.
  • At least two (2) weeks notice must be given in advance of intended visit
  • Include the following information:
    1. The facility you wish to visit.
    2. Date and time of the proposed visit.
    3. The number of persons in the group.
    4. The purpose of the visit.
    5. A contact name and phone number.
    6. Signature of sender.

Be Advised:

  • You will be contacted regarding the status of your request
  • If approved, you will be required to make your payment and collect the necessary tickets/ passes.
  • Tickets/ passes cost $10.00 per adult i.e. $8.69 +VAT and $5.00 for children under 12, i.e. $4.35 + VAT.
  • Passes to reservoirs and treatment plants must be presented at the gate and such presentation implies acceptance of the following conditions:
    1. Visitors are required to wear whole shoes, preferably sneakers. Slippers are not permitted.
    2. For safety reasons, the use of jewellery is NOT permitted.
    3. Visitors must obey all instructions given by any official, including those instructions posted on signboards. They must also keep within the permitted areas.
    4. Vehicles must be parked in the allotted parking areas.
    5. Care should be exercised while driving along access roads, since anyone proceeding along the said access roads does so at his/her own risk.
    6. Visitors are required to stay a safe distance away from the water and are not allowed to bathe at any of our intakes.
    7. Visitors are prohibited from starting fires, except at the facilities where pits are provided, in which case fires must be confined to the designated areas.
    8. Litter must not be left on the premises. Bring along your GARBAGE BAGS.
    9. Flora and Fauna are there to protect and enhance the environment and must be preserved. They may only be taken away if a Special Game Licence/Permit has been obtained from the Wildlife Section, Forestry Division, Ministry of Agriculture.
    10. Water and Sewerage Authority does not accept any liability arising from any action, accident or similar acts which may result as a consequence of a visit to any of its Installations. Any such responsibility rests solely with VISITORS.
    11. Please note that visitors must adhere strictly to the stated departure time.

PROCEDURE FOR WASA GROUND RENTAL

  • Letter requesting use of ground is sent to WASA:

    Farm Road, St. Joseph
    Trinidad, West Indies.

  • Request to include:
    1. Nature of Event
    2. Date and Time of proposed event
    3. Number of persons attending
    4. Contact number (person in control of event)
  • If approved:
    1. Fees to be paid
    2. Agreement to be signed, terms include:
      • Exemplary conduct MUST be demonstrated at all times.
      • No one is allowed to wander to any other area of the compound, except that for which approval has been granted for the activity.
      • All instructions given by the Authority's Security Personnel MUST be complied with whilst you are on the Authority's Compound.
      • The Authority MUST be indemnified against any and all actions, claims, proceedings, costs and expenses in respect of any loss or damage to property or injury to persons which may arise from the use of the premises authorised hereby.
      • Applicants will be responsible for, and make good by way of compensation in full, any damage to the Authority’s property arising from the use of the premises authorised hereby.
      • The area used must be cleaned and returned to its original condition on the day for which permission has been granted, upon the completion of the event.
      • security personnel and portable toilet facilities must be provided
      • Names of all visitors and visitors’ vehicles expected to be on the Authority’s Compound are to be provided to the Head, Security Services, two (2) days prior to the Event.
      • ALL Licence, permits etc. required by law for the activity/event are the Applicant’s respnsibility
    3. Caution Fee to be deposited (made out in a cheque, payable to WASA)
  • Upon completion of event a request in writing for the release of the Caution Fee is made and on verification of completion with Agreement by WASA, Caution Fee is released.
