(A) PRE-REQUISITE:

1. A Craftsman Diploma in Plumbing issued by the Ministry of Education, YTEPP or UWI Diploma and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with a Licensed Sanitary Constructor. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience must be attained on completion of the craftsman Diploma.
2. The Craftsman Assistant certificate in Plumbing from the Ministry of Education obtained at the National Youth Camps (duration of course at least 1000 course hours).
3. The UWI Extra Mural Course in Plumbing (duration of Course at least One (1) academic year).
4. A City and Guilds of London Final Certificate in Plumbing. A five (5) years apprenticeship period forms part of this Programme.
5. A Master Plumber Certificate from USA & Canada. The Master Plumber Certificate includes a five (5) year apprenticeship period.
6. Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years experience in plumbing and associated works. Applicants with other engineering degrees may be considered based on their experience in the plumbing field.
7. Former WASA Employees ONLY: The attainment of supervisory level (Foreman II and above) in the Operations Division and ten (10) years experience in plumbing supported by a statement of good performance and conduct while in the employ of the Authority.
   NOTE: NO LICENCES WILL BE GRANTED TO APPLICANTS WHILE IN THE EMPLOY OF THE AUTHORITY.

(B) APPLICATION

1. Applicants are required to complete the Licensed Sanitary Constructors Application Form
2. Submit the originals and two (2) copies of the following documents:
   1. A valid form of Identification (National ID, Driver’s Permit, Passport for Citizens and Passport for Non-Nationals)
   2. A valid form of Identification (National ID, Driver’s Permit, Passport for Citizens and Passport for Non-Nationals)
   3. Two (2) recent Passport size photos
   4. Certificates of Educational Achievements
   5. A detailed Resumé
   6. Three (3) Letters of Recommendation (no more than six (6) months)
      1. Two (2) from Customers
      2. One (1) from a valid Licensed Sanitary Constructor
   7. Portfolio of Applicants’ work for the Competency Validation Exercise (please speak with the Workforce Assessment Centre for guidance

(C) PAYMENT

Successful applicants who meet the pre-requisites A-B must pay a non-refundable APPLICATION FEE of Five Hundred dollars plus VAT ($500.00 + VAT)

WORKFORCE ASSESSMENT CENTRE

1. Competency Validation of Applicants
2. Registration of Applicants who meet pre-requisites A-C must enroll in the Licensed Sanitary Constructors Training Programme followed by an Examination.

Please note that there is a fee attached for the conduct of the mandatory Competency Validation Exercise and enrollment in the Licensed Sanitary Constructors Training Programme (cost may vary).
